deets you’ll wanna know

Below you’ll find answers to some questions you probably have + important details about the design process. If you still have more Qs, just shoot me a message! I’ll get back to you ASAP.

  • Place your deposit & then fill out my design questionnaire. I’ll be in touch soon so we can get started!

  • Short answer: yes to both!

You’re commissioning a piece of art which makes your jacket my canvas! I want to make sure you LOVE it - so I’m happy to go with whatever option below works best for you.

Option 1 | Send me your fave (Recommended)

Select your canvas of choice to ensure the perfect style & fit - then ship it to me. You'll receive my studio's address after placing your deposit. You can also feel free to ship the jacket directly to me from the online store!

    Option 2 | Get a recommendation

Let me know if you need some help finding the perfect jacket! I can point you in the right direction based on the type of canvas you’re looking for. Choose to try the jacket on first or ship it directly from the store.

Option 3 | I’ll provide it for you

Tell me the type of jacket you’d love, your size, preferred fit/style, and budget then I'll purchase the canvas on your behalf. The cost of the jacket will be added to your final total.

Option 4 | Shop my curated collection

Request to see my curated collection of vintage/thrifted jackets that are waiting to be upcycled! The cost of the jacket will be added to your final total.

Note: Please consider if you’d like to wash your jacket before sending it to me. In most cases, your customized jacket will not be machine washable, so you’ll only be able to spot clean it. If you want to ship it directly from the store, I can wash it for a fee of $10.

  • Yes! Jackets are my go-to canvas, but I’ll add a touch of magic to anything I can get my hands on! I’ve also created custom hats, disco balls, capes (yes, you read that right), shorts, skirts, shoes, PJs, hangers, journals, and 3D signs + I’m open to any ideas you have!

  • My design schedule is based on the ‘needed by’ date you’ll provide in the questionnaire, so please make sure this information is accurate. Do NOT enter the date you need to wear your jacket - please enter the date you would like the jacket to arrive!

Due to high demand, the standard timeline is 3-6 months, but I'll do my best to work with your schedule! Typically I'll ship the jacket out the week before your 'needed by' date, but will send it sooner if I'm able.

Rush fees may apply for orders placed less than two months from the requested delivery date.

Once shipped, delivery within the U.S. is typically 2-3 business days (delays due to COVID may occur).

Additional shipping charges and time may be required for orders outside the U.S. You’ll be responsible for any customs or import fees charged upon arrival.

  • A $100 deposit is required to reserve your spot on my schedule and kick off the design process. The deposit will be credited towards the final price of your design. After 48 hours, this deposit is non-refundable since I’ll begin working on your design proposal which requires a lot of time and energy!

Please visit my pricing guide to learn more about the various price tiers.

Bespoke designs start at $500. These are designs created uniquely for you from scratch rather than using an existing design.

The final cost is based on the complexity of the design, materials used, and turnaround time required.

Knowing your budget range helps me create a design proposal within your comfort zone that fits your style and desired features! We'll work together to make adjustments before finalizing the design to ensure the price works for you.

Unless requested in the design questionnaire (or otherwise noted), the cost of the ‘canvas’ (aka jacket) is not included in the design proposal and you’ll be responsible for the cost of the jacket and delivering it to me.

  • Think of my designs as a service rather than a product.

Your commission isn't just a jacket. It's a piece of wearable art designed specifically with your personality in mind!

The $100 deposit goes toward your total. It helps cover the cost of materials & designing your proposal.

I put A LOT of time & energy into each design proposal, so once I've started that process the deposit is non-refundable. Don't worry though - I'll work with you on modifications until you're 100% happy with the design!

Deposits are refundable within 48 hours or on a case-by-case basis.

  • As noted above, a $100 deposit is required to reserve your spot on my schedule and begin the design process. This will be credited toward the final cost of your design. The remaining cost will be split up into two payments depending on your price tier (see pricing guide for reference). If you need some flexibility with the payment schedule, just ask!

    Classic & Bougie Designs:

    • 50% of remaining payment due after delivery of design proposal (or you may choose to pay in full at this time)

    • 100% of remaining payment due at least one month prior to requested delivery date

Ex: A $400 design would have the following payment schedule: $100 deposit, $150 due after reviewing design proposal, $150 due one month prior to delivery date

    Bespoke Designs:

    • $250 due after delivery of design proposal

    • 100% of remaining payment due at least one month prior to requested delivery date (you may choose to split this up into multiple payments if you prefer)

Ex: A $700 design would have the following payment schedule: $100 deposit, $250 due after reviewing design proposal, $350 due one month prior to delivery date

Note: I will not begin working on the design until the payment has been made in full. I’m not responsible for delays in delivery due to late payment.

  • The environment and ethics are very important to me so I try to upcycle whenever possible since this is the most sustainable option (plus, it’s easier on your wallet too! #winwin). If buying new, I choose to only support brands that are consciously making an effort to treat the planet, people, and animals kindly. However, I understand that adhering to these values may come with a higher price tag so I will accept a ‘canvas’ from any brand if you ship it to me, but I won’t purchase these on your behalf. And I will always encourage you to invest in a canvas you can feel good about! After all, we’re creating a piece of wearable art you’ll cherish forever.

Ready to give an old piece new life?

Check out your local thrift stores and consignment shops or browse around one of these online shops:

& if you want to buy secondhand but feel overwhelmed with the hunt, no worries - I’ve got you! Let me know what you’re looking for and I’ll send you some options to choose from. I might already have the perfect jacket in my curated collection of vintage and thrifted finds.

If you’d prefer to buy new denim, here are my recommendations:

    Looking for leather?

Here’s where it gets a bit tricky! Real leather is obviously not animal friendly, but faux leather options can oftentimes come at a high cost to the environment. This leaves secondhand and vegan leather alternatives as the only sustainable options. Learn more about sustainability when buying leather from Good on You.

Leather alternatives tend to be quite pricey (but totally worth it if you can afford the investment!), so I always recommend secondhand if you want faux leather (see my upcycling recs above).

    Vegan leather alternative recommendations:

  • For orders within the U.S., I use a service called Sendle which provides 100% carbon-neutral shipping typically within 2-3 business days. All orders are packaged using a mix of recycled, upcycled, and/or reusable materials.

Shipping methods for international orders may vary, but I typically use Priority Mail Express International which includes tracking services.

If you are placing a rush order or would like to upgrade your shipping speed, additional fees will apply.

You are responsible for the cost of delivering your jacket to me. I will let you know when it has arrived, but I am NOT responsible for the loss of your jacket.

  • Although I’ll be sad to hear you no longer want a jacquet, I’ll gladly accept cancellations within 48 hours of your order or on a case-by-case basis. I don’t accept returns or exchanges on personalized items, but will consider them for items that don’t include a lettered name / personalized details. If you have any problems with your order or are unhappy for whatever reason, please reach out! I strive to make sure all my clients are ecstatic about their purchase and will do what I can to correct the situation. The deposit is non-refundable once I’ve started on your design proposal.

  • Please understand all my items are created by hand so care should be taken when wearing and looking after your jacquet. Only SPOT CLEAN your jacquet.

Hang it neatly when not wearing and avoid wearing it in harsh weather conditions to prolong its lifespan. If you have any issues with wear/tear please get in touch and I would be happy to offer a free touch-up service (you just pay shipping).

  • No problem! Since each piece is made-to-order, the design process tends to vary from person to person. I'm more than happy to answer any other questions you might have! Send me an email and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
